The Top 10 Supervillains Who Are Overrated

The Top 10 Supervillains Who Are Overrated

Each of these athletes at some point throughout their career was criticized for being overrated. Some for being unpopular. Others because they’ve not done something noteworthy. Some because the amount of exposure they are subjected to is unjust. Comics aren’t that different. Within the realm of comics, there are supervillains and superheroes who are also described as overrated.

In the last week, we looked at some superheroes we believe are deemed to be overrated. The dwarf name generator will help you if you’re willing to generate names.

Supervillains List

The article is available here. In this article, I’d like to reveal some supervillains who are underrated.

10. Bane

Bane hasn’t quite reached the same popularity level as, say, Penguin or Scarecrow. The reason is sense. Bane is not only boring with a dull backstory yet he lacks any depth that goes beyond his venom-injected muscles. As the simplest definition, Bane is a big brute that has only become a little more interesting as compared to reading about the normal street criminal.

At this point, I’ve been unable to understand the reason Christopher Nolan chose him as one of his villains in his third Batman film. I can admit the fact that Tom Hardy portrayed him brilliantly but that doesn’t change the fact that, as the character, he’s boring. To have Tom Hardy play him is similar to applying lipstick to an animal. It doesn’t regardless of how amazing the lipstick looks however, it’s still a porcine beneath. If you’re looking for group names then try the band name generator.

9. Ultron

Once again, I’ll not place the blame on market saturation for characters on my supervillains that are underrated. Instead, I’ll blame it on the lack of strong enemies. Contrary to Batman and Spider-Man, who has an impressive list of supervillains and villains, the Avengers with the exception of Loki, Ultron, and Kang do not. While they don’t name the three heroes already mentioned the list of their enemies is full of “B” and “C'” listers that haven’t been able to do anything.

Ultron is now viewed as a cult character because Marvel does not have many other Avengers adversaries that are strong enough to make a convincing threat. That’s why they’ve had by their own group.

8. Doomsday

Although many of Doomsday’s abilities aren’t particularly special (superhuman strength and speed, superhuman endurance immortality, regeneration, and) his ability to react is. His ability to adapt to the environment permits him to) recover from being killed and be able to) learn not to be defeated in that manner once more. The most well-known use of this skill is to play toe-toe and eventually end up killing Superman.

Doomsday is like cricket. He’s gross. He’s annoying. And he’s incredibly resilient. If you add all of this means that Doomsday can cause destruction on a large scale. This is why he’s on the list of superheroes that are under-rated due to his powers made him become.

7. Carnage

At one point, Amazing Spider-Man wasn’t worth significantly more than the sheet of newspaper is printed. Since its release, however, its value has quadrupled. This may have something to do with comics as an investment, but more to do with bookmarking the initial appearances of Carnage.

Carnage happens when you take the rage of Venom and add the insaneness of Joker. Carnage can be described as Carnage, the “offspring” of the Venom Symbiote, but without the need to defend the innocent. Carnage is a fan of chaos, death, and blood and will do anything to satisfy these desires.

Carnage, along with a couple of other comic book characters, helped bring about a new era of comics. This time, in contrast to the past it saw readers yearning for more brutality and violence. Carnage, as the poster child of violence and brutality Carnage, has found his way into our lives and shows no signs of slowing down.

6. Venom

Venom is a hit. It’s so popular that Marvel, as well as Sony, have considered creating a cinematic universe in order that Sony’s Venom and Marvel’s Spider-Man could be seen side-by-side. The actor is so well-known that his movie on its own earned 856 million dollars at the theater. He’s so well-known that Marvel has made every effort to profit from him.

Venom is all over the place. As with many other supervillains that are overrated and admired, his fame isn’t without cost. Although he’s one of the Spider-Man adversaries, he’s certainly not the most effective of them all. Not even close. Venom is an off-product of his fame and as a consequence, will always be on this list.

5. Magneto

Sorry for what I’m trying to say, but Magneto is a hugely underrated character. It’s so that he’s become the primary focus for the X-Men since the time of his creation in the year 1964… and this is a problem. The X-Men have a story as long as any other and within that story are many villains, characters, and themes that can be exploited. But, Magneto has weaved his way into virtually every X-Men story ever written.

Yes, his deep character’s depth is the deepest of any and yes, he’s powerful, but neither one of these implies that he has to be fed into our homes every week and out. Magneto is a major character in X-Men.

Is Magneto important? There’s no doubt about that. Is he required to appear in every form of media from comics to films to collectors’ memorabilia? No. Much like Wolverine, the world could do with less of his.

4. Thanos

Thanos wouldn’t have been on this list if not due to the MCU. While his role in comics cannot be overstated, he was not as well-known or as well-known as he is now.

Yes, he’s been featured in many of the most famous and revered epic tales…

As Magneto, Thanos is extremely powerful. In fact, he is so powerful that he’s caused the universe to fall to the brink on many occasions. As Magneto, Thanos is extremely smart. Like Magneto, Thanos has been fed to the masses to the detriment of his own character growth.

Thanos is listed on the list of supervillains that are underrated because, until he’s forgotten the majority of the world He will be treated as the first child of Marvels.

3. Darkseid

In the event that Thanos represents Marvel’s firstborn then Darkseid is DC’s firstborn.

In his first appearance as a cameo within The Superman comic Pal Jimmy Olsen #34, Darkseid is the ruler of Apokolips. As Apokolips’s ruler and the one responsible for its rule, Darkseid has been accountable for bringing death, destruction, and dictatorship throughout the universe.

Darkseid is as powerful as any. Even though he’s got a broad variety of superhuman abilities, his preferred method is to utilize the Omega Beams. The Omega Beams can do many things, but the most remarkable of them is to degrade anything they go through. Due to the Omega Beams, Darkseid is virtually unrivaled. Since he’s nearly unrivaled, Darkseid is one of the heroes that I think are underrated.

2. Loki

Similar to many other victims on this supervillains list that are deemed overrated, Loki suffers from overexposure.

The MCU has done more than comics could have done in the previous 25 years. It brought comics into the limelight and also proved that the genre is extremely profitable. Dare I suggest that without it, comics such as The Avengers might have gone extinct?

The disadvantage for this MCU has been that, for each mysterious character that draws attention to the world, it also over-does the market with more. Loki is one such character. Because of his over-saturation with Thor’s opponents (and Thor has a huge list of his enemies) do not ever see the daylight of day…I take a look at you Enchantress.

1. Joker

Perhaps the most famous supervillain ever The Joker is, in fact, the most underrated.

Before you get all with me, listen out.

The Joker has been featured on the pages of a comic more than 3200 times. 3200 times! The Riddler, in reason, has appeared more than 1100 times. He, more than anyone else is the epitome of excessive exposure. I’m sure you’re thinking that it’s the root of the many supervillains I have that are deemed to be overrated. You ask what could it possibly be?

I know that finding the right method to create a superhero can be difficult. This is why so many characters fall into the void and are never ever heard of again. The problem is that being scared to experiment with the new character is as harmful as repeatedly making the same characters. Instead of relying too heavily upon Joker, Joker, DC needs to look deeper into the pool of concepts.
